Mac Forsyth, Candidate for Durack

Born in Kelleberrin in 1949, Mac Forsyth has lived in the Central West,

Central Wheatbelt and Great Southern all his life.  Married to Gaye for 37 years, Mac is a committed Christian family man with three adult married children and eight grand children.

Educated in Kellerberrin and Cunderdin, He has the benefit of a wide ranging experience in farming, small business, financial counselling, water and soil management, indigenous training, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and community group involvement, including the past chairmanship Kellerberrin Agricultural Society and committee member WISALTS.  Mac Forsyth was awarded a Citizen of the Year award by Kellerberrin in 1986 for helping initiate a community liaison project in farm skills training

Mac is currently a Regional Pastor, ministering throughout the Midwest for the Lighthouse Church (Uniting Church) in Geraldton.  In the role that he has now held for 4years, Mac has counselled numerous community groups and individuals on financial, social and agricultural issues. His mediation skills and agreeable non confrontational manner have allowed him to play a positive and successful advocacy role for many people with banks, government departments and other agencies.

Mac is passionate about the positive impact the Word of God will have on Individuals, community and the Nation Australia.  He is a life member/ past chairperson/board representative for Strathalbyn Christian College, Geraldton and Co-convenor Mighty Mens Conference, Perth.

Presently active in the Menshed initiative in Geraldton and Midwest

Mac is a strongly committed Christian, well respected in church circles. He has a burden for compassion and justice and is keen to help people at grass roots levels with practical solutions to their everyday problems.
