Bob Burdett, Candidate for Brand

I am married with five Children two girls and three boys ranging in ages from 18 to 40. I have lived in this glorious state of WA 50 years. The last 20 years in this electorate.

Being involved in heavy mining and petroleum industries construction most of my working life equips me with considerable knowledge of the importance of these resources to our country. At present, my roles are in Occupational Health & Safety and Training & Assessment. I recognise our add value is with our young and great strides must be made to protect their futures both morally and financially. Working with companies and people on the Kwinana strip has enhanced my appreciation of the importance they play maintaining the local economy. Input to the resource sectors both metropolitan and in the Northwest from within this electorate, is without a doubt phenomenal.

I have firm faith in the policies of the CDP and take this statement as a direct quote from their economic  statement. “Good economic policy should reward entrepreneurs and businesses for the financial risks and the initiative they take. At the same time, governments should use economic policy to protect the vulnerable and disadvantaged without creating a people’s welfare mentality.”

My children attended school, live and work in Brand. I have a passion for right justice, fairness, equality and most of all honesty. I believe in the old adage “if one never tells a lie, there is nothing we need to remember”. The people of the great nation deserve the truth in all things. I strongly oppose smoke and mirror Government. The strength of conviction and dedication to honesty of the CDP is the major reason you are reading this profile. The decision to stand is over two years in the making and I do not treat it lightly. I sincerely pray I may play a supportive role in a big difference. The slogan of the CDP resonates with me. “If not now when?”
