Senate – Trevor Young
Trevor is 55 years old. He has been a highly respected Shire Councilor since 2005 and Deputy Shire President of the Woodanilling Shire Council since 2007. He has also acted on the Landcare Committee in various capacities (President, Secretary, Treasurer) since 1986 and is a past zone chair of the WA Farmers Wool Committee.
Trevor has been married to Jacky (CDP Candidate for O’Connor) for 32 years. They have 3 married children and 2 grandchildren. They own and have run a sheep and cereal farm in Woodanilling for the last 27 years.
Trevor is a University Graduate and previously worked as a Licensed Surveyor. He has been an active member of the CDP for the last 9 years and is currently on the State Council. At the 2008 State Election, he worked as a campaign manager for his wife Jacky (Wagin Candidate) and assisted her in achieving the highest percentage of vote for CDP in the Agricultural region.
Trevor has a very extensive network of contacts in the Agricultural region. Trevor and Jacky are actively involved in their church fellowship in Wagin.
Should he be elected Trevor will work to maintain and protect the Godly family values that underpin our society , support the better resourcing of aged care , the continuation of financial and other support for theĀ school chaplaincy programĀ and the protection of our rural and regional communities. As Senator he will work for the protection of state rights and the protection of our environment, all in accordance with CDP good policy.
